Ark Antiques specializes in Asian furniture and decorative objects, selling only to the trade. For their showroom, they requested a finish that reflected the origins of the objects. The finish was applied to the walls at the entryway and at the far end of the space, creating a dramatic entrance and an exotic mood.
Walls: we painted a copper and brown glaze over a red basecoat, creating clouds of color. This backdrop served the large scale wooden furniture well, setting it off crisply while setting a fine stage for smaller decorative objects.
Door: we also painted a door as red peeling paint over a black basecoat, continuing the Asian theme.
