commercial case study: restaurant
azalea restaurant, west 51st st, nyc
This Italian restaurant in the theater district requested a variety of finishes to complement its dramatic architecture that included a curved mahogany ceiling.
Accent Wall: a glazed deep-blue wall served as a focal point on one side of the dining room, creating a color contrast to the warm wood.
Bathrooms: in both bathrooms, the ceilings, walls and moldings were leafed in aluminum and varnished. Low lighting created beautiful reflections in the leaf, giving the rooms a warm glow.
Bathroom Doorframes: two doorframes were painted as faux bois mahogany to match paneled mahogany doors.
